Jerrol’s Book and Supply Co. has a 60 year tradition of leadership in the Central Washington community. In celebration of our 60th year in business we will be sponsoring a fundraising and awareness auction in support of Autism Speaks, Inc.
The auction will feature signed copies of books and sports memorabilia signed by athletes. We already have Temple Grandin’s “Seeing in Pictures,” Berenstain Bears books, Zig Ziglar titles and a Seahawks football signed by Shawn Alexander. This is just the start.
Autism Speaks is the nation’s leading non-profit organization devoted to autism. It was founded by Suzanne and Bob Wright after their grandson was diagnosed with autism in 2004. Last year alone, they donated over $25 million in funds for scientific research. More information on Autism Speaks can be found on their website www.autismspeaks.org.
All proceeds from the “Autism in our Community” Awareness Auction will go to this outstanding organization. While the funds raised will go toward making a difference, it is our intention to capture the media’s attention in order to bring autism awareness to our communities. We have all seen the celebrity or “Hollywood” autism story. We will show the real world, day-to-day understanding of what autism is like for these children.
Our goals for the awareness auction are to raise over $20,000 and gain local, regional and national media attention. Jerrol’s Book and Supply Co. has teamed with Central Washington University Public Relations Student Society of America in organizing the event.
The auction will be at The Inn at Suncadia (Driving Directions), Saturday, September 15th, 2007 at 6PM and online.
