"Autism in our Community"
Awareness Auction
Dear _________,
Here is the first weekly update for the "Autism in our Community" Awareness Auction.
Hi, my name is Brianna Berg and I am working with Rolf Williams at Jerrol's Book & Office Supply Co. as an intern from Central Washington University. I will be keeping you updated about the progress we are making throughout the next few weeks.
The goal is to create a media platform in order to provide awareness of what we can all do in our local communities to help individuals with autism and their families. We also want to raise $20,000 for our event beneficiary, Autism Speaks.
Autism Speaks is the nation's leading non-profit organization devoted to autism. It was founded by Suzanne and Bob Wright after their grandson was diagnosed with autism in 2004. Last year alone, they donated over $25 million in funds for scientific research.
There is alot of exciting progress to report on the "Autism in our Community" Awareness Auction. Currently, we are trying to find a location to hold the auction. We are throwing around a few places, but nothing has fit just right. The plan is to have a location "set in stone" this Friday.
Exciting items that we have had donated in the past few weeks include Temple Grandin's book, Berenstain Bear books, a Shawn Alexander Seahawks football, Sophie Kinsella's 'Shopaholics & Baby,' a few Zig Ziglar titles and our biggest item yet, a Buddy Bike. Please go to Jerrol's website if you would like to check out any of the auction items.
For more information on the auction please look at our website, www.jerrols.com/auction.
I want to keep this somewhat short so I will email you more news next week!
Thank you for all of your support.
Sincerely,
Brianna Berg
